Mum and Me are both on Sick List

I am on medication that is making me sleepy so I will let mum tell you about it.

Cookie's Mum here:

I had surgery on my eyelids yesterday.  It is a residual from the eye injury I had back in December 2013.  It is not very painful -- just uncomfortable.  I could not close my eyes properly last night, but now I am able to!!  But I have two black eyes, and it looks horrible!!

Anyway, Cookie has been limping a bit from time to time, but yesterday she was limping more and this morning could barely put her paw down.  I took her to the vet, and $550 later, we STILL are not sure what is wrong.  The vet took x-rays and said it is her left shoulder, and she is not sure if it is valley fever (which is very prevalent here in Arizona) or a tumor.  She took a blood sample and gave Cookie Rymadil and Tramidol!! Cookie's prescriptions cost more than the ones I had to get this morning.  If I had had a car, I would have gone to my pharmacy, but it was too far for Cookie to walk.  The vet is just around the corner.  *sigh* now I have MORE expenses!!!

I will keep you posted, but please POTP for her.

    POTP here and if you need any help with the med costs, just let me know. All of the sales of my books go to help animals and it doesn't have to be a organized rescue organization for a tax write off - we just want to help.

    we are so sorry to hear cookie isn't feeling well - there are a number of online pet pharmacies that can get you meds overnight and they cost about half the price of vets - you can phone them or do it on line 1-800 pet meds is okay and so is Dr's Fosters and Smith

    OH NO.... Black Eyes?? BUTT they do close now... THAT is good... We have never heard of Valley Fever ....

    We totally agree with what Reilly and Denny said ... we use the 1-800- Pet Meds place fur MY (Frankie Furter) Eye medicine... and it is Half what we would pay at the pharmacy for a LARGER sized tube of it...

    Wow, I'm so very sorry you both have some ouchies! I agree about the online purchases...cheaper and delivered right to your door. PLEASE TRY canadapetcare.com because they have excellent prices and deliver here. Anyway, meanwhile I'm sending tons of healing vibes to both of you. POTP and Hugs.

    I'm sending something new for you-POTC (claw). We're almost in Yavapai County. Too bad you're in Tucson (that's so far south, are there penguins there?) because we have a great vet in north Phoenix who is an excellent diagnostician and could probably figure out What ails Cookie.

      Mum and I are very happy with my vet, and it is very close to where we live, and because mum does not have a vehicle, it works out. Maybe one day we can get together with you -- bol

    We are so sorry to hear this. We left you a comment on the POTP blog telling you that you can fill a doggie Rx at Costco for less. We sure hope things get feeling better really fast!! Sending POTP for healing!

      Actually, mum says that she finds that Costco is a bit more expensive for her own meds. As she says -- we couldnt walk to any pharmacy at the time. Next time we will try to get to a cheaper pharmacy!!
