UPDATE

Cookie's mum here:

I just got a call from Cookie's vet -- Cookie definitely has Valley Fever in the bone -- which is better than a tumor, but very expensive.

Could someone please help to to set up a Go Fund Me to help me cover the costs for the medication and vet bills.  I would really appreciate any help I can get.

My e-mail is jskhackney23@hotmail.com.

Thanks all from me and Cookie.

  1. I am sorry that Cookie is so sick. I am glad it is something that can be treated. I don't know how to set up GoFundMe, but I will be happy to help. I am sure someone will know how to do it. I will say a prayer for both of you and Ziggy has paws crossed.

  3. We are sorry to hear this! What is the prognosis? What will her treatment be? We don't have any Go Fund Me experience either but it probably isn't difficult as we see many of them around Facebook.

    1. She has to take an expensive medication daily and have blood tests periodically. That is why we need to set up a fund!!

  12. Wow, thank dawg it's only this! Antifungal cream and some blood tests should help bunches. Definitely not nearly as bad as it could have been. *whew* Sending more POTP and healing vibes and hugs.

  13. My girl Cisco had it - I can offer you some suggestions. First of all, try to purchase the meds from other pet owners - your vet might be able to help you with that. We got our first doses from a gal who's dog unfortunately did not survive the disease. She let us have it at cost. We were also lucky enough to be able to run down to Mexico to buy our meds. Ask around to see if that is an option for you. The medicine can cause issues on its own - with our girl it was lack of appetite. Be prepared with lots of "special" treats. Cisco got all the Dinty Moore stews she wanted - a tip from Lassie of all dogs! She went through a period of time were she would only eat baby food. There are also a lot of natural treatments found on-line - speak with your vet about using those along with the medicine. Also, make sure you know all the side effects of the meds and what to look for. Cisco went blind - caused by the medicine. Good luck!
